2023 TTF Data Findings
At the 2025 Fall Retreat, EGA offered a Tracking the Field Resource Library to showcase the newest findings based on 2023 grantmaking data tracked by EGA’s TTF program. In 2023, we recorded over 15,900 environmental grants given by EGA members, totaling more than $3.2 billion, a 19% increase from $2.7 billion in 2022. Energy & Climate continues to be the most-funded issue area by EGA members, receiving 42% of EGA members’ total funding in 2023. Biodiversity & Land issues received 16% of funding, Water issues received 10%, Systems received 17%, and, notably, Health & Justice issues received 13% (down from 16% of total funding in 2022 one year prior). Our 2023 environmental grantmaking data analysis explored EGA members’ grantmaking by international region, domestic region, issue area, grantmaking strategy, and communities impacted.
