Recycle

  • Recycle all office paper.
  • Set up a recycling program in your office building, and make use of curbside programs to recycle aluminum, steel, glass, newspaper, and cardboard.
  • Ask about local programs to recycle magazines, colored paper, wood, oil, and plastics.
  • Purchase recycled paper exclusively and encourage grantees to do likewise. If possible, paper products should be chlorine free with a post-consumer content greater than 50%. Use vegetable-based inks for annual reports and other publications. (See Recycling Resources.)
  • If you have a traditional fax machine, be sure to purchase recycled thermal paper.
  • Look for other office supplies available with post-consumer content, from file folders to scissors.
