The Arizona Open Land Trust was established 1978 to protect Southern Arizona’s vanishing western landscapes and wildlife habitat. We are protecting Southern Arizona’s world-class resources: magnificent open landscapes, rich cultural history and stunning wildlife diversity, for future generations. As a private, non-profit organization, and acting as a bridge between private and public sector interests, the Trust has protected nearly 18,000 acres in Southern Arizona since 2000. Our efforts are guided by our Priority Protection Plan which identifies significant lands for protection. Our small size, diverse and talented board, staff expertise and local presence allow us to be responsive and entrepreneurial. We design protection strategies that complement the interests of both the landowner and the conservation buyer.
