On this website, you will find complete 2006 Fall Retreat details––including the program, registration forms, and an up-to-date participant list––as well as useful links for more information about Asilomar, local weather, things to see and do, and more. We will also post any preparatory materials or links to program topics provided by session leaders.

Access to the Member Area

If you do not already have a password for the Member Area of the EGA website, please register online, email for help, or call 212.812.4260.

Register and Submit Payment through www.ega.org

Help us practice what we preach. Registering for the Fall Retreat electronically is a faster, more efficient process that allows us to save time, energy, paper, and other resources. Visit the Member Area to submit your registration form and pay your registration fees (with a major credit card). Online registrants are automatically added to the participant list and emailed a registration confirmation.

Lodging

Please download the Asilomar registration form from the EGA website at www.ega.org/members. Complete the form and fax it to Asilomar to reserve your room. Call Asilomar reservations at 866.654.2878 with questions, and be sure to mention that you are with the EGA Fall Retreat. Remember to book your room before September 1, 2006.

Phones are not available in Asilomar guest rooms. However, there are many public phones located on the grounds and in building lobbies. Most cell phones will receive a signal.

Room Shares and Carpooling

Many of the guest rooms are designed for multiple occupancy. We encourage you to share a room. We also encourage you to carpool. Please visit our bulletin board on the registration website to coordinate with other members.  Rooms are available at 3:00 pm on the day you arrive.

Weather

October in Pacific Grove sees temperatures between 50 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit on average, and some rain is possible. For up-to-date weather forecasts for Pacific Grove during our retreat, check www.weather.com. 

Don’t Forget

Bring a flashlight, jacket and layers for cool weather, comfortable shoes, an umbrella, and your program guide. Dress is casual.

Children

If you would like to hire a babysitter during your stay, Asilomar highly recommends VIP Babysitting.  Please contact them directly for more information and to make arrangements.

Internet Access

Wireless access is available in the Administration Building/Social Hall, as well as another location to be determined. There is a small business center in the Social Hall with a personal computer for word-processing needs, two phone lines for dial-up, two modem lines for internet access, and speakerphone for conference calls.

EGA Bookstore

Bookworms can peruse and buy the works of our speakers, colleagues, and other environmental writers in the EGA bookstore set up in the central meeting area.
