Retreat Information

Visit the 2005 Fall Retreat webpage in the Events section of the EGA website, www.ega.org.
You will find complete 2005 Fall Retreat details––including the program, registration forms and an up-to-date participant list––as well as useful links for more information about Mohonk Mountain House, local weather, things to see and do and more. We will also post any preparatory materials or links to program topics provided by session leaders.

Access to the Member Area
If you do not already have a password for the Member Area of the EGA Website, please register online or e-mail oiyayi@ega.org for help.

Register and submit payment through www.ega.org
Help us practice what we preach.  Registering for the Fall Retreat electronically is a faster, more efficient process that allows us to save time, energy, paper and other resources. Visit the Member Area to submit your registration form and pay your registration fees (with a major credit card). Online registrants are automatically added to the participant list and e-mailed a registration confirmation.

Lodging
To reserve a room, please call Mohonk Mountain House directly at 800.772.6646 or 845.255.1000. Be sure to mention that you are with the EGA Fall Retreat.

Room Shares and Carpooling
Many of the guest rooms are designed for double occupancy. There are also B&Bs that accommodate 4–6 people available near the hotel. We strongly encourage you to share a room, as space at Mohonk is limited. We also encourage you to carpool. Please visit our bulletin board in the Member Area section of the EGA website, www.ega.org, to coordinate with other members.

Weather
September in New Paltz could see temperatures as high as the 70s during the day and as low as the 40s at night. Pack for mild weather but bring some layers for outdoors.

For up-to-date weather forecasts for New Paltz during our retreat, check out www.weather.com

Dress
Dress is casual at the retreat and during meals. However, Mohonk Mountain House has informed us that if you will be having dinner there before Sunday or after Tuesday, jackets are required for gentlemen ages twelve and older, and ladies are required to wear dresses, skirts or evening slacks.

Don’t forget your bathing suit if you want to swim. The lake will be closed for swimming after Labor Day, but there will be a pool in the new spa that is free to all guests!

Children
Mohonk Mountain House offers a variety of activities for children. Please let EGA staff know if you are interested and visit their website, www.mohonk.com, to learn more.

Internet Access
There is free wireless internet available for guests of Mohonk only throughout the Mohonk site as well as in the sleeping rooms. There is a small guest computer room with three computers, which will be open during business hours.  Non-guests pay $9.95 for 24 hours use of the wireless internet access.

EGA Bookstore
Bookworms can peruse and buy the works of our speakers, colleagues and other writers in the EGA bookstore, which will be set up in the central meeting area.
